The company was founded in October, 2009 by Samo Login. The company generates revenue through a combination of paid app downloads, in-app payments for virtual items and advertising. While the company does not disclose revenues, it has announced that it made $200,000 on Christmas Day, 2010.[2][3]Products
In addition to Talking Tom, the company has ten other characters in the Talking Friends line including Talking Gina the (Toy) Giraffe which achieved 1 million downloads over its first four days.[4] Other characters include: Talking Pierre, a Parrot - over-it, Talking Ben the Retired Chemist Dog, Talking Lila the Fairy, Talking Angela, Pretty City Kitty, Talking Santa, Talking Bacteria John, John & John, Talking Roby the Robot, Talking Rex the Dinosaur, Talking Harry the Hedgehog, Talking Larry the Bird, Talking Baby Hippo, Talking Ginger known as 'trouble', Tom Loves Angela, Tom's Messenger, and Talking News; which includes Tom and Ben in a News Show, see Other Media for episodes including this app. In November 2012 a new line of Talking Friends toys called Talking Friends Superstar were created which would respond to the app such as Talking Tom or Talking Santa.Other media
Talking Tom appeared on ABC’s television show Modern Family, Season 2, Episode 12, “Our Children, Ourselves.” [5]On June 12, 2012 Talking Tom and his city kitty crush Talking Angela were featured in the music video You Get Me which features Tom and Angela meeting each other for the first time. A second hit called That`s Falling In Love was released in November 2012
On May 10, 2012 a teaser for a new Talking Friends show online was put on Disney.com. The Show ran with 10 episodes. Episodes featuring the Talking News included: Talking Friends Ep4: Newserator and Talking Friends Ep9: Angry Parrots It ran From June 8, 2012- August 31, 2012. It was running time on 34 minutes[6]
